Work with Substance Abuse Disorders

In 2001, Linda co-founded a non-profit organization to help homeless veterans with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Many had been in jail or prison and had lost hope in overcoming their past. Linda helped them to develop the skills to stay clean and sober. Together, clients were able to recreate themselves and regain their confidence and credibility. As a result of the success Linda has had with her clients, she became the recipient of the Red Cross Hometown Hero of the Year and the Prestigious Athena Leadership Award.

Additionally, Linda has received letters of commendation from several community and state leaders. The Governor awarded her a plaque for having such a positive impact on the residents of Wisconsin. He said that Linda is “an example for Wisconsin residents to follow.” For the last several years, Linda has received Alignable’s Wausau Local Business Person Of , the Year, based on the nominations made by other businesses for her contributions to her community.

Linda Larson Schlitz is a Whole Person

Linda is also a singer, songwriter, counselor, professional speaker, coach and author. Everything she does is a reflection of her own personal experience. Having overcome the debilitating effects of mental health and substance abuse addictions, she surrendered to the God of her understanding in 1976. Linda has been using her skills, talents, abilities, and experiences to give people HOPE in finding their God given purpose since then.

She is the author of Ditzy Blonde Faucet-It’s a God Thing which provides a humorous look at the things that go on in the life and mind of someone with ADHD.

She also wrote Speak to Me God I’m Listening-365 Daily Meditation for Those Who Want to Hear God Answer Life’s Toughest Questions which offers a 12-Step recovery approach. With added Bible verses and Linda’s journaling as she implemented Step 11 “Praying for the knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.”

She also partnered with Elizabeth Clamon and other authors to write Fiercely Unstoppable Entrepreneur- Lead With Purpose, Overcome Challenges and Take Control of Your Destiny. You can find all of her books HERE.
