If you’ve ever met me, you know the story: Years ago, I walked out of my corporate office, tossed my sensible heels into the wind, and announced to the universe, “I am going to quit my job, become a world-famous speaker and coach, and build a massive income so I can serve the needy and fulfill God’s plan for me!”
At the time, it sounded like a foolproof plan. I had a vision, a mission, and a dream worth celebrating with an oversized dinner at Red Lobster.
Fast forward to today, and let’s just say the “get rich” part of the brochure had a massive clerical error. My literary empire currently consists of a Kindle book that earns me a cool 35 cents every few months and the occasional $6.20 paperback royalty. As for my coaching? While I’ve had the privilege of helping countless women find freedom from alcohol later in life, my “business brain” hasn’t quite mastered the art of charging Warren Buffett-level fees.
I’ve hired the gurus, the “internet marketing experts” with the rented Ferraris in their banners, and the masterminds that leave your head spinning. I’ve been pivoted, branded, and funneled. But if I’m being honest? I didn’t always do what I was told. I got distracted, I ignored the Grateful, I forgot the Good, and I lost sight of my Goals because I hadn’t yet learned how to apply the very system I am finally sharing in my new book.
But here is where the “rotten potatoes” wisdom comes in (that’s a classic WWLS—What Would Linda Say). Despite the slow climb, there has been real, lasting impact. My previous book, Speak to Me God, I’m Listening, hit the #8 spot on Amazon’s 12-Step Recovery category. (Admittedly, it helped that my sister and a few friends went on a shopping spree that night, but we call that divine intervention!)
Today, seven years later, out of over 2.1 million books in the Kindle store, mine is currently sitting at #926 in its category. That’s not just a number; that’s lives being changed. That’s God using me—perhaps not in the way I demanded, but in the way He intended.
I’ve learned that success isn’t a microwave dinner; it’s a slow-cooked roast. God’s plan rarely syncs with our “I need it by Friday” corporate calendars. I’ve never given up hope; I simply had to learn that H.O.P.E. stands for Help, Opportunity, Praise, and Encouragement. And that help rarely arrives on our timeline—it arrives on His.
I am still here. Still writing, still coaching, and still believing that my message is going to reach the women who need it most. My next book was inspired by my husband, Ralph. When he returned from a Christian treatment center in 2008, he brought back a simple life habit that has since rewired the brains and transformed the lives of countless people. I am finally ready to share it with you.
Consider this your official invitation.
If you are reading this before August 12, 2026, I invite you to join my journey. If you’ve felt like you’re “floundering,” please breathe. You aren’t failing; you are simply in the middle of a very long, very important process.
Maybe God’s purpose for you right now is to join my H.O.P.E. Launch Team to help push this message forward? I would be honored to have you on the team.
I can’t wait to see you at the launch, and I hope to see your name in the Amazon reviews on August 12th!
